Hi, I’m Sara. I’m an artist and fortunate enough to combine my love of animals and painting.
How it works
If you’re considering commissioning me but have some questions, please get in touch, I’ll be delighted to chat through your queries.
The first thing to think about is portrait size. There are two options:
A4 (21 x 29.7cm / 8.27 x 11.69ins)
A3 (29.7 x 42cm / 11.69 x 16.53ins)
The next step is to send me your request along with one or two good quality photos of your pet. I mainly concentrate on the head and shoulders and am looking for really clear images, similar to school photographs. I want to capture your pet’s personality, so it’s important to see that sparkle in their eyes! However, if you’re struggling to find a suitable photo, we can chat this through and find a solution.
I’ll then get to work on the portrait, painting with gouache on high quality watercolour paper. When completed, I’ll send you a preview, and once payment has been made, I’ll send the portrait by post, or hand deliver if it’s local.
Your pet portrait will be supplied unframed, but I can give you advice on framing if required.
Sara painted the most beautiful portrait of our beloved dog lottie…. she’s not just a dog to us she’s a big part of our family and everywhere she goes she puts smiles on people’s faces… Sara captured Lottie’s personality perfectly .. standing perfectly waiting for a treat! I loved her portrait so much that I immediately commissioned another one for my mother in law who was equally touched when she saw Cassie a golden lab who passed away 28yrs ago come to life in her portrait.
We are both over the moon with the beautiful portrait that you did of our beloved late little Staffie “Gucci”. The photo that you used as a basis for your painting was always our favourite image of her and you have taken it and turned it into a beautiful work of art. It really has perfectly captured that cheeky tilted-head pose that always made us laugh. Many thanks for capturing her so perfectly.
Our commission from Spark pet portraits has been a joy from start to finish. Sara is so personable and really takes an interest in your pet and your ideas, she also keeps you updated throughout the process. I was overwhelmed by how wonderful the finished portrait of Teddy was, it was like looking right at him, Sara captured him perfectly. Such a talent. I would recommend Spark pet portraits to anyone who wishes to have a pet portrait, it is such a special personal piece of artwork to keep and enjoy for many years to come and ours hangs pride of place in our home.
Sara was fabulous! Me and my brother were looking for a portrait to give our mom for Christmas. Admittedly I’d left it quite late, but Sara made sure to fit our portrait in and it was completed in perfect time for the holidays. She was so helpful when choosing what to go for and kept us updated throughout the process. We were so happy with the final portrait and our mom cried when opening it on Christmas Day! Sara captured both our dogs personalities within the painting and we will definitely be commissioning her again. We love her work!
I have commissioned Sara to do 3 paintings over the past year as gifts for my family and friends. Each one has been beautiful, capturing the dogs and their personalities perfectly and the recipients have loved them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sara, she made the process easy from start to finish, was a pleasure to deal with and her love of dogs shone through in every conversation!
An exceptionally talented artist, Sara creates the most beautiful portraits in stunning detail – treasured memories that bring such joy!
